Dr. Dame Evangeline Gouletas

Evangeline is an inspiring lecturer and keynote speaker; she has spoken at the Institutional Investors Conference in London, the Finance Institute at Baruch College in New York for 12 consecutive years, and the Harvard Business School in Cambridge, MA and many other professional organizations.
She is an avid supporter of numerous cultural, religious, charitable and civic organizations. She has chaired many major charity benefits and is a tireless fundraiser, philanthropist and sports enthusiast. Evangeline helps support the worldwide relief efforts of UNICEF, the United Nation’s Children’s Fund. She is a member of the Advisory Council and has spent 10 years on the Board of Directors for both the U.S. National Board of Directors and the Midwestern Region Board of Directors. She was Chairperson for the 50th UNICEF Anniversary Gala.
Evangeline served as First Lady of the State of New York.
She is a Grand Dame with the dignity of Commandeur with the historic Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem, Grand Priory of the United States of America. She received the National Merit Award, the highest honor bestowed by the organization. This Order is a Christian organization founded in Jerusalem in 1118 by nine French knights. The purpose of the Templars is to do charitable works, promote good will to all, and more importantly, take Christ and His Life and example seriously. Evangeline has been officially designated as a Delegate to the United Nations with Special Consultative Status to the United Nations headquarters in Vienna, Austria and later in New York City, by the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem. This entitles her to attend and participate in any Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) meeting of the United Nations.
While attending the Euro-American Women’s Council’s Global Forum to receive the Artemis Award, Mayor Avramopoulos of Athens, Greece presented Evangeline with the Gold Medallion of Athens in recognition of her leadership on a global scale.
LaGuardia Community College, New York established the annual Evangeline Gouletas Leadership Award to honor “the woman whose commitment to opportunity, equality, and social justice has been at the heart of every phase of her career. If there has been one central concern in her professional life, one commitment stronger than any other, it has been education.”
Evangeline has been indefatigable in her support of the Greek Orthodox Church in the United States as well as the Christian Orthodox Patriarchate, in Constantinople. She is the Godmother of Kimisis Tis Theotokou ~ The Dormition of the Virgin Mary, Greek Orthodox Church in Southampton, New York, and a member of the Leadership 100 program of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese. She was the Honorary Chairperson of the Centennial Restoration Committee Dinner for Evangelismos, New York, and the Capital Fund Chairperson for the Annunciation Cathedral, Chicago.
Evangeline received the Tree of Life Award, from the Jewish National Fund. She was further honored by having a park near Nazareth, in Israel, named after her. The park is known today as the Evangeline Gouletas Recreational Park. It is a symbol of Evangeline’s great hope that all people of the world may live together in harmony. Evangeline has also received the Great American Award from the International B’nai B’rith Foundation.
